Hi,
Would it be possible to shoot the Victory VAP .166 Target Sports Shaft with an 800 spine out of a Longbow?
Your advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
DavidYes, you can shoot any arrow you like out of a longbow as long as it is spined correctly.
It is worth checking with your club if there are any rules that require a specific arrow for your class, some organizations require longbow shoot wood/aluminum.
If just shooting at home then it doesn't matter at all.
Can you tell me the gpi on the 700 and 800 spine Vap sports arrows and do you have these in stock? We have both spines in stock.
Victory's website says the 700 is 5.7 GPI, and the 800 is 5.4 GPI
Re: Victory VAP sports
- How do I select nock color?
- When specifying shaft cutting length, is it measured to nock groove and/or point, or is it carbon to carbon? You do not have a choice in nock colour unfortunately, they are supplied to us how they are supplied.
If you put a note that you would like a particular colour we can try our best to find a set in the spine and nock you want. We cannot guarantee it will be available.
We cut and measure carbon to carbon.
Using the Victory calculator for a 35lb Recurve 90-100 gn tips in a 28.5" arrow its saying a 900?? Currently using 660 C1 with 90gn tips and bareshaft is saying I am still too stiff? Oh by the way using Uukha SX100 limbs. Any recommendations have heard good things about the Victory Vap and would be usefull to keep to a 0.166 id shaft. We would expect 600-700 spine arrows to tune out of 35#. The speed profile of Uukha limbs will change the spine requirements as well.
The only way to really do it, is to start with a spine that is close and tune the length and point weight till you get an optimal bare shaft flight.
can I have these cut to a specific length? Ie 27 3/8 " (f nock throat to carbon)
(I have some that we're cut to this odd length by another shop)
ThanksYes we can cut down arrows to a specified length.
